Week 1 of 52 Weeks of Color - Champagne

I tend to not make resolutions for the new year anymore because I never keep them. I do have a goal for this year, however... even though I'm about a week late getting this up here! My goal for this year is to participate in every week of the second round of Luna Juiblee's 52 Weeks of Color. Hopefully real life won't kick my butt as badly as it has this week for the rest of the year!

Photobucket

Two of the pieces I am wearing are from the current collection at The Dressing Room. The bodysuit and pumps by R.icielli aren't technically champagne (they are beige and creme), but the color was so close to Luna's champagne swatch that I couldn't pass these items up for my photo. You get both pieces plus seven more for a mere L$70! What a great deal!

The skirt I'm wearing is another piece of evidence to support the fact that I am totally addicted to mesh. I have found myself in the past couple of weeks passing up coats, dresses, skirts, etc that aren't mesh. I don't think I have totally given up on prim pieces; I just prefer to not have to deal with them when I don't have to! The Oxford Pencil Skirt by {mon tissu} is so pretty and classy; I think I eventually want to own the entire pack.

So, I've Been Away

I know it is so unlike me (note the sarcasm) to just disappear without warning or notice. But, I promise that it was for a really good reason this time. My real life has changed in very dramatic and very blessed ways over the past few months. My fiance and I were finally married in early October, and we couldn't be happier. It has taken a while for us to get the internet connected at our house (I so love the sound of that), but I'm back now. My work commute is much greater now, over two hours daily; so, I probably won't get to post as often as I did before. But, at least I will be posting!

Photobucket

The dress I am wearing is from the ever lovely Siss Boom. The sparkle of the Forget Me skirt really caught my eye as I was looking over all of her new releases. The skirt is made of two attachments; so, if sparkle isn't your thing, the under layer is beautiful enough to stand on its own.

Oh my, how I have missed skin and hair on Second Life! I don't think that I will ever be able to get enough of either. The skin I am wearing is the new Laika II by Filthy Skins. I absolutely loved this designer when I first saw her work, and she continues to get better with each new release. The makeup is lovely and the shading and highlighting hits in all the right spots. If you have not tried Filthy Skins, I highly recommend that you stop by and try a demo!

I'm not sure if I even need to introduce an [elikatira] hair anymore. Her work is so well made and so recognizable that any hair addict would immediately know who made it. Soft is a delicate short style full of curls that can be found at the current collection of Collabor88 for only 88L per color pack.

Photobucket

If you love beautiful jewelry, you will really want to check out the je suis 50% Off Black Friday Sale. All products have been marked down until 12 pm SLT on Sunday. I'm wearing one of the newer designs titled Leah which is a color change piece. Through tomorrow, you can pick up the necklace for L$250 and the earrings for L$200. That is the equivalent of a complete fatpack for only L$450!

Truth is Beauty

Is there such a thing as photographer's block? If so, I most certainly have had it the past few days. I couldn't tell you how many snapshots I've taken and trashed. Uuuggghhhhh. What do you do for inspiration when you are having a block of some sort?

On a more positive note, Truth released two new beautiful styles last week titled Bree and Lacey. Bree is a loose, wavy side pony with gently slopped bangs. Bree is so casual and summery; it has a very comfortable feel to it. Lacey is what I would personally love my real life hair to look like! No one does great, realistic curl in Second Life like Truth! Lacey is a long, curly style full of volume and beauty. I so love the little color change headband that pushes the hair back from the face while leaving a small amount of bangs swooped to the side. Both these styles are available in store and on the Marketplace for L$250 per color pack or L$1,500 per fatpack.

Photobucket

Photobucket

On a side note, while Truth does not include resize scripts in his styles, they all have modify capabilities. This means that you can manually fit or add your own resize scripts. Always make sure that you make a copy of your hair before making any modifications, just in case of boo-boos. A great feature of having modify privileges is having the ability to 'edit linked parts' which allows you to easily push pieces of hair around (i.e., no more hair in your ears!).

My Hair Fair Favorites

I can't believe that tomorrow (well... technically today) is the last day of Hair Fair 2011 and I still haven't blogged what I spent six hours finding a couple weeks ago. -.- Yes, I claim the title of Queen of Procrastination. Please and thank you. Lol This post is going to be a little different than most I do simply because of all the pictures I'm posting from various designers. The style names along with the designers will be listed below each picture as well as what pose I used in each particular picture.  All hair designer landmarks are set to the Hair Fair locations.

Week 35 of 52 Weeks of Color - Electric Blue

I know that I am a lot of weeks behind on Luna’s 52 Weeks of Color Challenge, but I have really been missing it and decided to do a post for this week. Don’t worry, I do plan on making up the weeks that I was absent, but I just loved the color choice for this week!

Photobucket

When I saw the skirt from Emery at The Dressing Room Blue last weekend, I knew that it would be perfect for electric blue! The textures are absolutely beautiful; I have always thought that blue and orange go wonderfully together, but I may be a bit biased toward that color combination since they were my high school’s colors. The cream speckles add an extra touch of softness to the already soft blue. The only thing that was not my favorite about the skirt is that like most other non poofy sculpted skirts, it really is not AO friendly. Emery has compensated for that, however, by adding an absolute amazing pair of glitch pants for underneath. They honestly blend beautifully with the skirt, and it is hard to tell where one begins and the other ends. I have paired the skirt with a simple system tank from fri.day. I bought the orange version of the VNeck Capsleeve Tee, but it wasn’t quite the right shade of orange. Lucky for me, the shirts are tintable, and it was a very easy fix.

Photobucket

There is so much goodness coming out of the new Truth District sim this weekend, and I will have full reviews on both the new Truth hair styles and new Curio skins very soon (tomorrow perhaps?). In the meantime, I will leave you with these two pictures to keep your mouth watering at all the pretties. The hair style I am wearing is titled Pandora, and it is one of my favorite Truth updos to date. The wavy, loosely hung hair is so very feminine; the sculpts are so amazingly realistic; it looks as though you could just reach out and touch them. As with most other Truth hair, there are some flexi pieces attached to give it realistic movement. If you cannot get into the new sim, this hair is available both in his main store location and via the marketplace.

The hair clip I am wearing is not included with the Pandora hair; it was, however, designed by EarthStones to go with this hair but can be worn with any other hair you may want to wear it with! The clip comes in three designs and is color change; each clip is available for L$299 or L$599 for the fatpack which is like getting one free. Whether you purchase the hair or not, I believe this tiny accessory is a definite must have; with all the flexibility you have with colors, it can go with almost anything casual or dressy! The clip can be purchased at Truth or at EarthStones.

The skin… Oh, the skin! Every time Curio has a new release I get all giddy. Ever since trying my very first Curio skin earlier this year, I just have not been able to get enough of them. Total, Gala released three new skins today; this particular skin is from the Summer line and is titled Lake 1. Ms. Gala truly must have known that I would be putting this outfit together this weekend because the makeup matches so perfectly. Like other Curio skins, this design is amazingly realistic. The amount of time the creator has put into this skin is overly evident; no part is left unfinished or looks like it was completed in a hurry. There is also a gift from Gala in the new Truth District Updates group which is free to join! Grab it while it is still there.

Milana

Before I learned how to take high rez pictures, I did a lot more hair reviews than I do now. The main reason for that is because every time I take a high rez picture, my Second Life browser crashes resulting in fifteen to twenty minutes needed for each snapshot. If I have a lot of hair styles to photograph, you are talking about an all day event! I had been photographing the new Dernier Cri, rebranded Milana, styles this week any time I got a free fifteen minutes amid a family crisis and homework due for my masters course. I am getting married in three months and was getting ready to go house hunting with my fiancé this morning and was also hoping to take at least a couple snapshots while I put my makeup on. I was a little annoyed that I had to take the time to update my Second Life browser, but oh my… I was more than pleasantly surprised when I took my first snapshot. My browser didn’t crash! Whatever you did Second Life techs, thank you!! I was able to take about eight photographs in ten to fifteen minutes! I’m so happy and will be doing more hair and skin reviews whenever I get the chance!

Photobucket

Now, on to the hair! As I mentioned above, Dernier Cri has rebranded as Milana with an extra designer added as well. All of the styles below are by the designer of Dernier Cri, Asuka Martin. Perhaps now that I can photograph quickly, I will also feature the styles from her partner, Sharifa Morenz! I first discovered Dernier Cri during the one.eleven event last November. I absolutely fell in love with the quality of the hair and impatiently awaited the arrival of her new release. The long wait was most definitely worth the amazing line of new hairs released this past weekend. Hair packs are available for L$245 each and fatpacks are available for L$845. The fatpack includes seventy beautiful shades which can be changed through a ‘hair dyeing’ hud. A free gift is also available to customers; join the Subscribo for the free hair!

The outfit I am wearing is an offering at Fashion for Life, the Second Life event to benefit Relay for Life by the American Cancer Society. Although the color of the dress I am wearing is not for charity, a green version of the same style is available for a donation of L$200 at Vanitas Vesture. Nine additional colors, including the one I am wearing, are also available at the fair for a nondonation price of L$200 each.

The shoes I am wearing are also an item featured at Fashion for Life. As my first purchase from Pixel Mode, I have to say that I am very impressed and very pleased. The quality of the shoes are exceptional; the sculpts are beautiful and the texture is amazing. The pink version of the Baby T’s are available for a donation of L$300. Three other nondonation colors are also available for L$300 each.

Blossom

I’m so happy that spring is almost here. It was so nice to hear frogs when I was outside today; I just wish that the weather would stop teeter tottering. I really love that many great designers are starting to put out spring items. It really brightens my days. =)

Photobucket

JANE released a couple new outfits this week, one of them being the absolutely adorable Blossom set. The Blossom Dress is an adorable elongated babydoll; I really prefer this style over the obscenely short versions that barely cover the necessities. The texturing with this dress is very nice; I love the drawn folds under the breasts and down to the bottom of the sculpt; it really gives it a realistic look. The pattern of the dress is very nice as well. The flowers are just too adorable! The dress is available in three color choices at L$150 each or L$295 for the greedy pack.

The Blossom Cardigan is sold as a separate piece and looks great with the dress or even with other clothing. The cardigan features short sleeves and a flared out design below the breasts. An adorable string holds the cardigan together at the top with a sculpted bow attachment. The texturing is very beautiful with a realistic knitted look. Four colors are available at L$100 each or L$225 for the greedy pack.

Photobucket

What goes better with a beautiful spring dress than a big floppy hat? Amacci released new hair and new makeup this past weekend, and both are absolutely gorgeous! The Alissa hair is a long style with a beautiful sun hat attached. A color change HUD is included for the hat; select from preset colors or enter your own RGB! Your choices are really limitless when it comes to colors with this hat. Options are also available on the HUD to adjust transparency, glow, shininess and size. Want the hair without the hat? No problem! A hide hat option is also included. What the hat without the hair? No problem there either! A separate hat is also included with your purchase. Color packs are available for L$275 each and fatpacks for L$975.

I absolutely love the new tattoo layer makeup from Amacci! The Divine eye shadows and eyeliners most definitely live up to their name. The shine and shimmer is absolutely stunning. Nine light colors and nine dark colors are available with an option for lashes or no lashes. I’m wearing a selection from the dark pack titled Pink (With Lashes). Each pack is available for L$375 or L$600 for both packs. My lips are also a tattoo layer from Amacci which were released a few weeks ago. The Frosted Lips are simply yummy! I love how they have a touch of shine without going overboard. Four packs of ten colors each are available for L$375 each.

New @ Amacci

It has been entirely too long since my last hair post. I miss them… I definitely need to do more! Last weekend Amacci released four new hairstyles, all of which I love! I have long, brown hair in real life; so, I always love when I find a nice long style in world. Coralee and Coralee II are both very pretty and move very smoothly; the only difference between the two hairs is the length and style of the bangs. Melody and Viola are two beautiful updos which also feature a difference in bangs. Melody features ‘no bangs’ and looks best when paired with an Amacci hair base as pictured below; Viola features sweeping full bangs. Individual color packs are available for L$250 and fatpacks are available for L$900.

Bella

My ava is a little more excited about the prospect of snow tomorrow than the real life me. We have been hammered with snow for nearly two months now. Spring seems so far away; perhaps I should relocate to a tropical climate.

Photobucket

I have new clothing and relatively new hair for you today! I am so in love with the new Bella outfit from JANE. The adorable, poofy lace shorts are so feminine; I wish I had a pair in real life! The Bella shirt is so adorable as well; it has a very comfortable look to it which is achieved by the prim pieces that give it a loose look instead of being a more fitted sweater. My only disappointment is that resize scripts are not included in the prim pieces; they are, however, modifiable which allowed me to insert my own resize scripts since I’m horrible at manually resizing. The bow tied scarves and cableknit tights are new additions to the Needful Things and Lil’ Piggies lines respectfully. Ten color packs are available which contain multiple shades of that color in each pack. For a very limited time, you can purchase the greedy packs of each for only L$50. This was only supposed to be a one day special, but it has been up for several days now. Hurry and get them before they are set to regular prices!

The hair I am wearing was newly released from LeLutka a little over a week or so ago. Three different styles were released on the same day. Scarab is a long style tied back by a beautiful texture change scarf; six colors are included in the scarf for you different styling needs. Lohan is also another long style; I love how the long bangs drape down in the face. It is a very sexy and chic style. Finally, Charlize is an elegant pulled back style that is tucked tightly into the hair in the back. It is most definitely perfect for any formal, or casual for that matter, event you may be attending in the future.

Fussy Finery

After a long Monday at work, it was nice to come home and see a new design that is so sweet and still very chic. Fussy Finery is the newest creation from Lestat Reuven, owner and designer of Siss Boom. This adorable dress features a sculpted skirt, sculpted sleeve cuffs and a sculpted scarf. I love the texture found on this dress! It’s such a soft pink; it speaks comfort to me. For a limited time, Fussy Finery will be available for L$100.

Photobucket

It seems as though I am constantly discovering new (to me) skin designers via The Dressing Room, and I absolutely love it! Natural Beauty, formerly Tik Tok, is the guest this week at The Dressing Room Blue and has including the Olga skin (tan) as a special for only L$60. This skin is absolutely stunning! I love the coloring on the eyes; the designer has added just enough darkening to make it pretty without completely over doing it. The color of the lips is perfect for me! It reminds me of my lips in real life; the color looks very natural with just a hint of gloss added.

Photobucket

Amacci is having a Winter Hair Sale through January 16th. All color packs (6 – 7 colors) have been reduced to L$85 per pack and all fatpacks have been reduced to L$295. Amacci has many styles including short, medium, long, braids, ponies, updos and even male styles. I am wearing Jessica in Mocha, an adorable updo featuring folds in the back and cute, swooshing bangs in the front. You don’t want to miss this sale!

Inspiration

Photobucket

The work week is nearly here again, but since I still have a few hours before I must return to my real life, I thought I could have at least a little more fun! I have never been to Asia nor have I ever done an Asian themed post, but the skin from MonS in The Dressing Room Blue inspired me to do something a bit different.

Photobucket

Since its opening, The Dressing Room has introduced me and many, many others to some of the best designers Second Life has to offer. The stunning dress I am wearing is from Baiastice. Well, if I wanted to be technical, the dress is actually a collaboration of the Alisha Top in black and the Balloon Silk Skirt in black, but they pieces go so well together that it could be mistaken for a dress. The top features a beautiful texture with outstanding highlighting and shading; I love the glittery, beaded texture included on the top of the shirt. The skirt features translucent prims ‘ballooning’ out from the base. This ensemble is available at The Dressing Room Blue for L$70.

Photobucket

I’m not entirely sure that the Enna Skin from MonS is indeed an Asian skin; actually, I’m almost positive that it isn’t since the eyebrows have a reddish tint. However, the slanting of the eyes and the swooshed out eyeliner made me think Asian. I love the lips on this skin! They are so vibrant and full of color. The lack of eye shadow on the eyelids makes this skin a perfect base for all of those shadow tattoos I am sure you are collecting by now. This skin is available at The Dressing Room Blue for L$70.

I absolutely love discovering new (to me) jewelry stores; what makes the experience even better is when the designer obviously has a lot of talent! The Stoned Set collection from Aglaia is a three stone necklace set on golden rings with smaller, purple gems on both the stones and the necklace portion. The set also includes large, gold earrings with the same purple stones, a wire type bracelet with a stone and gems attached and rings (not pictured) which feature each of the three stones on different fingers. For one week only, the entire set is available for L$150.

The Brownie hair from LoQ confused me a bit when I first put it on. This piece is another item that I picked up while vising The Dressing Room Blue. The poof, adorable pony and stray hairs sticking out rezzed on my head when I attached the hair but nothing rezzed on the sides. I waited a few minutes, suspecting lag to be the culprit, but still nothing rezzed. I then had a ‘DUH!!’ moment and looked back into the file. The hair included a tattoo hair base which makes up the sides of the hair instead of prims. I am not normally a fan of hair base tattoos, but this one blends so nicely; I am definitely impressed with it. This hair is available in a pack of four colors at The Dressing Room Blue for L$70.

Photobucket

Finally, but most certainly not least, are my amazing boots! Although Dilly Dolls specializes in doll clothing, the shoes offered by designer and owner Oriana Kuhr are extremely versatile and will go with many different styles of clothing. The Sonata Boots feature beautifully sculpted prims layered over each other. The metallic texture is beautiful and offers just enough highlighting and shading. These boots are Viewer 2 compatible only. The Sonata Boots are available in twenty-one colors of darks, lights and metallics for L$75 per pair or L$500 for the dark fatpack, L$500 for the light fatpack and L$300 for the metallic fatpack.

NEW @ LeLutka

It’s no secret that I love hair, and when I saw the new release from LeLutka… Let’s just say that it was love. ♥ It seems like I have been falling in love a lot lately, but what else can you expect when you are continuously exposed to such amazing designers?!

Photobucket

I absolutely adore the Keiko hair! I’m not one for short hair in real life (It just doesn’t match my face…), but with the versatility you are able to have with your ava in Second Life, it only makes sense to have multiple hair lengths for your various style needs. This hair features long bangs swooshed to the left side of the face and an adorable ‘curved in’ look near the bottom of the hair. Keiko is available in light and dark shades of blonde, brunette, red and grayscale for L$269 per a five color pack or L$1,152 per fatpack.

Photobucket

Seriously… Who doesn’t love an updo with an amazing poof?? The volume LeLutka gives us with the Pam style is very impressive. Now, if only I could get my hair to do this in real life, I would be set! Ha! This hair features a beautiful pony that is pulled around to the right side of your ava with a gorgeous wrap hairbow which is color change (black and brown). I absolutely love all of the random hair pieces that are sticking out at the edges; it gives the hair a much more natural and realistic look. Pam is available in light and dark shades of blonde, brunette, red and grayscale for L$269 per a five color pack or L$1,152 per fatpack.

Love Me Some Hair!

I could barely control myself yesterday on my first visit to Head Mistress. Never in a million years would I have believed that you could find hair at the quality offered in this chic little shop in fatpacks for only L$150. Yes, you read that correctly, dear readers... L$150 for fifteen amazing colors of exquisitely sculpted hair. The textures this hair features are very beautiful and blend very well. It will be very difficult for you to leave this shop without purchasing something!

Photobucket
Photobucket

Don’t you just LOVE the skin I’m wearing?! If not, you need that pretty little head of yours checked. Hehe . Ice Queen Happy Holidays is the FREE Christmas gift from Curio. Yes, I just said FREE Curio skin. Woot! A normal and freckled version of the skin is included in the holiday package in every skin tone available from Curio. To grab this skin before it disappears, search for and join the Gala & Rita Design Announcements group in world. This group is free to join. As my first ever Curio skin, I can honestly say that I am falling in love♥, and you just may be seeing me in a lot more Curio skins in the future!

The clothing I am wearing in my first picture is the Taylor sweater from Pink Outfitters at House of London which features multiple wearing layers (Thank you, London Dailey!!) and two prim attachments. I absolutely fell in love with this sweater as soon as I saw it in the notice. The prims are beautifully sculpted and blend well with the shirt/sweater layers of the top. At only L$50 each, this sweater is really a steal! Eight colors are available at the sale price until January 4, 2011.

The clothing I am wearing in the second picture has been featured several times before but is definitely worth featuring again. Actually, it has kind of become my emergency grab shirt. I simply LOVE it! The shirt is part of a complete outfit by Siss Boom titled Winter Basics. The ensemble features jeans, a shirt layer and the sweater layer that I am wearing above. Prim attachments are also included for the jeans and the sweater which gives the outfit a more realistic look. If you want to grab this, you will have to hold off until January 1st as the Lemania SIM is being remodeled. I’m really excited and cannot wait to see what Lestat Reuven creates! I so love, love, love her builds!

The jewelry featured in both the first and second pictures is from EarthStones. If you are anything like me, you simply cannot stay away from the exquisite sculpts created by Abraxxa Anatine. There are very few pieces released that I don’t love. The best part about both items featured here is that they are available in the Bargain Loft at a discounted price! The dangle beads set features tiny, little beads ‘dangling’ from a silver linked chain. The necklace, earrings and bracelet are all sold as separate pieces in ten color options at L$150 each. If you have ever been to EarthStones, you know that is definitely a bargain! The Diamond Circle Drop Set in Silver/Red Jasper features a linked chain and a stone suspended inside of a diamond circle. I absolutely love this set! It is offered in four center stone options and two metal options (eight options total). The set includes both the necklace and the earrings for L$175.
