[Insert Creative Title Here] ... =D

I truly cannot wait for spring to finally get here!! It has been a very long and a very cold winter. All the bright colors designers have been putting out in the past few weeks is really making me look forward to warmer weather.

SYSY’s has a new dress out, titled Barb, that is simple and yet very elegant. This dress is available in solid colors (silver and champagne) two tone colors (nude/brown, blues, and strawberry) at L$225 per dress. However, the strawberry color is a Valentine’s Special and is marked down to L$125. Run and pick this exclusive color up before it disappears!

Nothing helps to complete an outfit better than a pretty piece of jewelry. The Journey collection by Aluinn is more than just a piece, however; it is an entire set of jewelry including necklace, earrings and bracelet even though the necklace is the only piece pictured. Black and silver combinations offer such versatility and go perfectly with many items already present in your inventory. This set is also offered in blue, diamond, green, purple and red at L$385 per set.

Everyone always loves free items! The skin I’m wearing is one of the three available gifts from JeSyLiLo at the 3rd Vanity Fair Universe Skin Fair. Free skins almost always scare me because some designers don’t put as much effort into free items as they put into their ‘for sale’ items. You don’t have to worry about that fear with these three skins. All are very detailed and of high quality just as a normal JeSyLiLo skin. While at the Skin Fair, don’t forget to check out the new JeSyLiLo items!

Last, but certainly never least in my book, EverGlow has a few new poses available. I have so many poses already in my inventory, but it never seems like it is enough! I literally have thousands. This is my first time trying EverGlow poses, and I have to say that I am very pleased. The designer offers versatility and personality with her poses. Poses used are included in Model Pack #44 [1] and Model Pack #46 at L$400 per pack (10 poses) or L$50 per pose. If you are addicted to poses as much as I am, you will definitely want to stop by this store!

Week 15 of 52 Weeks of Color - Red

It has been a surreal week to say the least. It was so difficult to say a final goodbye to an amazing young woman today who touched every single person who had the honor of knowing her.

Although I have a lot of red in my Second Life inventory, I just couldn’t seem to find the right outfit to fit my mood this evening for Week Red in Luna Jubilee’s 52 Weeks of Color. I wanted a true, bright red, but unfortunately I was finding mostly maroons among my outfits. I remember a few weeks ago reading on someone’s blog how they found their outfit for that week by searching on the Marketplace; so, I decided to give it a try. It really didn’t take me long to find the amazing dress from Elegant Fashion. As I’ve said before, dresses made from system skirts typically are not my thing, but when the textures line up correctly, they are absolutely stunning! The textures couldn’t be more perfectly aligned in this dress. I love the frills around the bottom of the dress; it adds a beautiful extra touch of femininity. Frill straps are also included for the upper portion of the dress, but even without them, the dress is stunning. This dress is on sale for a limited time for only L$99; this is a definite must have!

Photobucket

The beautiful skin I am wearing is the new special from Glam Affair at The Dressing Room. Let’s be honest, you really can never go wrong with a Glam Affair skin, and this L$70 addition to your inventory is no exception. The blood red lips and gorgeous eyes make Nina V-Day 02 a staple skin. The skin will be available for the next two weeks.

Have I mentioned how much I love all of the sale stores that are popping up? Just in case you missed it… I love sales!!! Fashion House is another great discount shop offering designs from some of the best creators on the grid. All items featured at Fashion House are L$50; you definitely can’t beat that! While I was there, one of the items I picked up was the Forget Me Knot hair from Shag; I first discovered this adorable hair creator during The Seasons Hunt, and I was so excited to see their contribution to the Fashion House. The style is very classy and elegant. Two colors are included in your purchase.

Bella

My ava is a little more excited about the prospect of snow tomorrow than the real life me. We have been hammered with snow for nearly two months now. Spring seems so far away; perhaps I should relocate to a tropical climate.

Photobucket

I have new clothing and relatively new hair for you today! I am so in love with the new Bella outfit from JANE. The adorable, poofy lace shorts are so feminine; I wish I had a pair in real life! The Bella shirt is so adorable as well; it has a very comfortable look to it which is achieved by the prim pieces that give it a loose look instead of being a more fitted sweater. My only disappointment is that resize scripts are not included in the prim pieces; they are, however, modifiable which allowed me to insert my own resize scripts since I’m horrible at manually resizing. The bow tied scarves and cableknit tights are new additions to the Needful Things and Lil’ Piggies lines respectfully. Ten color packs are available which contain multiple shades of that color in each pack. For a very limited time, you can purchase the greedy packs of each for only L$50. This was only supposed to be a one day special, but it has been up for several days now. Hurry and get them before they are set to regular prices!

The hair I am wearing was newly released from LeLutka a little over a week or so ago. Three different styles were released on the same day. Scarab is a long style tied back by a beautiful texture change scarf; six colors are included in the scarf for you different styling needs. Lohan is also another long style; I love how the long bangs drape down in the face. It is a very sexy and chic style. Finally, Charlize is an elegant pulled back style that is tucked tightly into the hair in the back. It is most definitely perfect for any formal, or casual for that matter, event you may be attending in the future.

It's a Party!

Every month, Lemania Indigo Designs hosts a L$1 hunt on her SIM. I remember always being excited for these events when I was only a few months old in Second Life, and to be honest… I still get excited to see what she puts out each month. The number of prizes varies from month to month; this month for the It’s a Party hunt, Lemania has placed fifteen gifts out for L$1 each with prizes including clothes, accessories, hair and furniture. Prizes #1 (Sunflower Hair Pin), #2 (Hollyhocks), #13 (Plinky Pink) and #15 (Paris Vacation) are featured below. The hunt runs through January 31st.

The Designer's Showcase

I love all the little shops that are popping up all over Second Life to introduce and promote various designers. The Designer’s Showcase is one of the latest of these special stores which offers clothing, shoes, accessories and even home items. Designers include the following: Butt-Err, DreamScape, Embody, Eshi Otawara, GLAM, Gypsys, Hanaya, Hatter is Mad, H.I.M. Fashions, HOC Industries, Hurrem, Instinct Inc., JoJo, La Petite Morte, Lemania Indigo Designs, Marret, MeKa, Mocha, Oddity, Riddle, Sasira, Smushyface, The Secret Store, Urf!Urf!, WorN, and Zibska.

Photobucket

Of course, Lemania Indigo Designs is not new to me, but when I stopped by the showroom today and saw her item, it excited me. The regular price for a Lemania design is L$400 and up; however, Ruby Tuesday is being offered at the Designer’s Showcase for the very low price of L$99. This dress is absolutely too adorable. It features beautiful purple and silver colors with a short sculpted skirt and a long flexi skirt. Shoes are also included with your purchase although they are not pictured below.

Photobucket

Thanks to my dear friend Tapika Tomsen, I was able to find the perfect piece of jewelry to go with my beautiful outfit from Lemania. Tapika introduced me to Alienbear’s Designs not too long ago, and I absolutely fell in love with the pieces offered. If you have never tried Alienbear’s, now is the perfect time to do so. Through the end of the month you can purchase jewelry at 50% off regular prices. I chose to wear the VernaRosa necklace and earrings; the necklace was just the right length for the very low cut top. The textures in the jewelry are absolutely beautiful, and the sizing was perfect as well (no adjustments needed for me). This is most definitely a designer I will be featuring more of in the future.

NEW @ LeLutka

It’s no secret that I love hair, and when I saw the new release from LeLutka… Let’s just say that it was love. ♥ It seems like I have been falling in love a lot lately, but what else can you expect when you are continuously exposed to such amazing designers?!

Photobucket

I absolutely adore the Keiko hair! I’m not one for short hair in real life (It just doesn’t match my face…), but with the versatility you are able to have with your ava in Second Life, it only makes sense to have multiple hair lengths for your various style needs. This hair features long bangs swooshed to the left side of the face and an adorable ‘curved in’ look near the bottom of the hair. Keiko is available in light and dark shades of blonde, brunette, red and grayscale for L$269 per a five color pack or L$1,152 per fatpack.

Photobucket

Seriously… Who doesn’t love an updo with an amazing poof?? The volume LeLutka gives us with the Pam style is very impressive. Now, if only I could get my hair to do this in real life, I would be set! Ha! This hair features a beautiful pony that is pulled around to the right side of your ava with a gorgeous wrap hairbow which is color change (black and brown). I absolutely love all of the random hair pieces that are sticking out at the edges; it gives the hair a much more natural and realistic look. Pam is available in light and dark shades of blonde, brunette, red and grayscale for L$269 per a five color pack or L$1,152 per fatpack.

Envision

It has been too long! With returning to work in real life after the holiday break this week, I haven’t had as much time as I would have liked to blog. I suppose I got too used to sleeping in until 9 – 10 every day; I have taken a nap almost every day after work. --Sigh--

Photobucket

As many of you know, EarthStones is one of my favorite jewelry stores in Second Life, and it absolutely tickles me pink every time Abraxxa Anatine releases a new set of diamond jewelry! Diamonds are most definitely my gem of choice in both my real life and my second life. Last Monday, the new Envision line was released, and my oh my, is it a beauty! The sheer number of small prims speaks volumes to the amount of time Abraxxa puts into all of her creations and the tremendous amount of talent she possess. The necklace is composed of 188 prims, the earrings are composed of 88 prims total and the bracelet is composed of 255 prims. The details in the metal and in the gems are extremely impressive as well. This line is available in white diamonds along with your choice of white gold/rubies, white gold/London blue topaz, white gold/black diamonds, yellow gold/champagne diamonds, yellow gold/emeralds and yellow gold/fire opals.

To go with such an exquisite set of jewelry, I, of course, had to have an equally exquisite gown. Lestat Reuven of Siss Boom must have been reading my mind when she recreated her Letters to You dress today in black and white. It is just what I was looking for! If you have been searching for a designer with an extreme amount of talent who offers amazing deals, search no more! All Siss Boom creations are released at the rock bottom price of L$100 for the first twenty-four hours only. Normal prices range from L$400 to nearly L$1,000 with her skin line.

X and O

After a weekend of splurging, it’s nice to be able to find quality items at such low prices. One of the first stores I fell in love with in Second Life was Lemania Indigo Designs. I can remember saving any Lindens I won (Ha! Those were the days…) to purchase Lemania’s L$100 specials. I looked forward to getting home from work to see what new, genius pieces of art she had placed out for the day.

Photobucket

The outfit I am wearing today is one of my favorite Lemania pant outfits. Most of the time, you will find poofy skirts and other elegant designs at Lemania, but every now and then she treats us with a great pair of pants! X and O features an adorable coat with undershirt, beautifully shaded pants and shoes to match! This color combination and design is perfect and right in time for Valentine’s Day!! I believe my favorite part of the jacket is the bottom; in most cases, when you wear a jacket in Second Life, the bottom portion will be a prim piece. A lot of the time, those prim pieces don’t fit me, and I am forced to resize. The bottom of the X and O jacket is actually a system skirt layer. Genius!! No resizing to fit me at all. I also love the little hearts tucked away in the pockets of the jacket. Aren’t they adorable? This outfit (with shoes included) will be out at Lemania for only L$100 until sometime tomorrow. Don’t miss it before it goes back up to normal price (L$400).

The beautiful double pearl necklace and earrings I am wearing is from Alienbear’s Designs, who just so happens to be having a 50% off sale through January 31st. Believe it or not, the jewelry set I am wearing is available for only L$20! Even better, if you are a member of the Alienbear Design and Le’ Cameo Lovers group, you can get this set absolutely free! I know group space is very limited (Please hurry with the 40 group slots!!); even if you can’t give up a group spot to grab the necklace, the good news is that the regular price is only L$20! Not too shabby!

And It Was Love

It’s hard to believe that a couple months ago I only owned one brand of skin and had no intention of ever changing that. I just didn’t look ‘me’ in another skin. One of the great things about Second Life, however, is that you can change ‘me’ on a daily (or hourly lol) basis! You don’t have to be stuck with one look or one style. When I first started modeling for Lemania Indigo Designs and Wondrous Strange (now Siss Boom) in Second Life at the ripe old age of three months, I was always fascinated and awe struck at the beautiful skin in the vendor pictures. When I finally figured out about two months later… I’m not really sure why I never asked… who the extremely talented creator was, I quickly teleported to Curio. Still being relatively young in Second Life, I was not about ready to pay ‘that’ price for skin! Haha… No way! Not me! I went on about my merry way and didn’t really think much more about it.

Photobucket

Last week, a friend IMed me and told me that Curio had a free skin in the Gala & Rita Design Announcements group. My curiosity perked back up, and I joined the group to try the skin. Let’s just say that I instantly fell in love all over again. The skin looked absolutely beautiful on my ava; the lips were so colorful and luscious and the eye shadow had just the right amount of color. Needless to say, I once again teleported back to Curio to drool over all the amazing skins. Although L$3000 is still quite an investment to me, it’s not an absolute out of the question purchase decision to me anymore. I took a few demos and tried them on periodically over the next couple days. As I said, L$3000 is an investment for me as I am sure it is for most people in Second Life, and I wanted to make sure without a shadow of a doubt that I really LOVED the skin I would buy. Of course, I could have purchased a single makeup pack, but then I would just end up wanting the rest. In the end, I decided to purchase the Elf 2 Sundust makeup pack, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

I think the vendor pictures at Curio may be a bit misleading; you actually get an extreme amount of skin options in the pack that I didn’t realize way back when by just looking at the pictures. Each makeup comes in two versions, two skin tones (light and dark), and an option for freckles in both makeups and both skin tones which gives you a total of eight options for each ‘makeup’. If you purchase the fatpack, that is a total of fourty-eight skins! When you look at it like that, L$3000 doesn’t seem quite as bad; that is only L$62.5 for each skin.

The skin from Curio looks amazingly realistic. Apart from the face, my favorite part is the collar bones. It almost looks as if Gala has taken a picture of someone with beautiful collar bones and uploaded it on her skin. I’m sure, however, that they are hand painted, and that, my dear readers, is pure and amazing talent! The colors on each of the eyes blends so perfectly together, just the right amount of blush is added, and even in the very light lips, they are all still so luscious. If you have never tried Curio, I urge you to at least join the Gala & Rita Design Announcements group (free to join) to try the free skin. If you are anything like me, you will soon be falling in love, and it probably won’t be long until you are wanting more!

It Was a Fairy Tale...

What little girl doesn’t want to grow up and be a princess? Unfortunately, real life does not turn out that way for most of us. Except of course if you have that special someone who makes you feel like you are anyway (ily♥mdl). In world, it’s easy to be anything you have always dreamed of being, including a princess. The new set of jewelry from [Fairy Tail], titled Lulu, is a beautiful and affordable way to add that extra special touch to any poofy dress in your inventory to make your ava feel like a true princess! The set comes in three separate pieces including a necklace, earrings and a tiara which features beautiful white gold, pearls and diamonds. Two color options, diamond and pink diamond, are available at a discounted price for a limited time. Sale prices are as follows: Necklace – L$177, Earrings – L$77 and Tiara – L$100. Week 8 of 52 Weeks of Color - Green

Sometimes I forget that I am still new enough in Second Life to not be familiar with all of the really great designers. I was introduced to LeLutka for the first time this week, and I have to be honest… I have absolutely fallen in love with the designs! Everything, and I mean everything, is so exceptionally made. The dress I am wearing, titled Zareah, caught my eye as soon as I saw it. The sculpted pieces are so beautifully designed. The only, very minor, issue that I have with them is that there is no resize script. However, you do have modify permissions which easily allows you to either resize manually or add your own scripts to them, which is what I prefer to do since I suck at manually resizing… and I tend to be a bit OCD.

They shoes I’m wearing, titled Saffron Pumps, are also from LeLutka. The Electric Red color so perfectly matched the Cherry hair in Red Lobster Buffet that !lamb. had as a 50 Linden Friday special today, and I could NOT pass them up! The shoes are absolutely gorgeous, and I never want to take them off! Ok… at least until I find my next favorite pair of shoes which probably be tomorrow knowing me. LOL What can I say? I’m a sucker for fabulous shoes!!

Scandinavian Fame

Aaaaahhhh Christmas Break! It was so nice to finally be able to wake up after the sun rises this morning. Snow is still on the ground from the monstrous storm we had last week; hopefully it will stick around a few more days to give us a white Christmas! Speaking of the white stuff, I received an adorable winter items from an absolutely amazing designer yesterday. DCNY’s Scandinavian Poncho is completely sculpted (one attachment) and reminds me very much of a poncho I have in my real life. I absolutely love the complete wrap around design with the high collar and fur trimmed bottom. The textures are very realistic and leave me with a warm and cozy feeling. Five colors are available for customers to choose from.

Although I wouldn’t necessarily classify the FAME Pumps from LeLutka as strictly “winter” shoes, the added leg warmers definitely make them wearable, and rather fashionable, during the colder days! I received these shoes as a very generous Christmas gift from my very good friend SweetDeb Kips. When I opened these shoes yesterday, I instantly fell in shoe love! As my regular readers already know, I can NEVER have enough shoes, and a perfectly sculpted pair of shoes absolutely sends me over the edge… in a good way. The FAME Pumps feature a thick high heel and an adorable tassel in the front. The textures throughout the entire shoe are realistic with added highlights and shading. Both the striped and plain styles of legwarmers are included with your purchase and are texture change with six colors to choose from. The top, main and bottom of the legwarmers can be changed individually. Fourteen color choices are available which can be purchased individually or in a fatpack.

Cover Me

I suppose this is just the week for beautiful skin releases! Gum by JeSyLiLo was technically released about two weeks ago, but it’s still new to me! I absolutely love the lips on this skin; they are very glossy, and I love glossy! This skin also features soft makeup tones while still adding a nice splash of color to your ava. All of the options included with this skin are amazing! With each skin, you will receive options for eyeliner/no eyeliner, matte/shiny, small breasts/large breasts, and hairbase/no hairbase. This skin is available in light, tan and dark versions. Individual makeups are available for L$1200 each and fatpacks are available for L$4500.

The dress I am wearing, titled As One, is a new release from Siss Boom. This beautiful dress is so delicate and screams femininity! The dress features both a jacket and shirt layer; the jacket layer is short (about midriff) while the shirt layer extends down to the lower waist. The skirt in this outfit is sculpted. This dress is available for only L$100 for a limited time only!

Week 7 of 52 Weeks of Color - Cerise

Ok… So, I know that my picture isn’t even close to being mostly created from the color cerise, but that shade of pink is really hard to come by in Second Life! I was amazed that I did already have something in my inventory that color; unfortunately, it was old ETD hair. Don’t get me wrong, a few ETD styles that I have are still some of my favorites, but I am not necessarily a huge fan of pink hair. EEK!

The shirt that I am wearing is the upper portion of a dress, titled Roses Are Pink, by Lestat Reuven. I’m not sure exactly what the name of her store was at the time the dress was created. Her current shop, located on the Lemania SIM, is titled Siss Boom. Lestat has a very unique personality and enjoys changing things up quite often. However, through all the name changes and weekly (ok… sometimes monthly) building changes, her style has remained the same. Anytime I need a classy, elegant or casual look, I know that I will be able to find exactly what I am looking for among Lestat’s creations. She is one of my favorite designers in SL, if not possibly my number one favorite. She is an amazing person, and I absolutely love her to pieces!

I am actually wearing two pair of pants to create this look which is not possible without Viewer 2. The bottom layer of pants is the bottom portion to the Roses Are Pink dress by Lestat Reuven while the top layer is the Delirium Jeans in Coal by Miseria. I first brought you these jeans a few weeks ago, and the designer of Miseria was kind enough to send me the entire fatpack! It’s so difficult to find jeans that have a realistic texture and blend beautifully with the leg prim as well. Obviously, I am not wearing the leg prim in the picture above, but if you would like to see one of my previous posts with these jeans that the leg prim click here. A great pair of jeans, in real life or second life, is a must in any closet, and you most definitely cannot go wrong with these!

The boots I’m wearing, which I plan to do a full review on within the next couple of days, are one of the new releases from the newly created Mon Tissu shop by the designers of Surf Co. and Tres Blah. I have been looking forward to the opening on Mon Tissu since the announcement of the coming store was first released, and I am most definitely not disappointed with the quality of the items. The Provence Riding Boots are exquisitely made; you will be hard pressed to find another pair of boots of this quality for L$350. If you have not checked out Mon Tissu on the Lula SIM, I highly recommend that you do so. The design of the buildings and the surrounding land alone is worth a visit!

Old Saint Nick Hunt @ Lemania

Since I had a day off of RL work today, I thought I would try to completely Photoshop a snapshot from Second Life for the first time. Normally, I upload my background images to SL and take my pictures in front of a backdrop. I had wanted to try adding backgrounds via Photoshop for a while, but I had never had the time which apparently is exactly what you need a lot of! I am pleased with my very first completely Photoshoped image, but I do believe I won’t be doing too many of them. It takes an insane amount of time to just erase the background to get a nice cutout of the ava. In my busy life, I only have time for in world backdrops!

Last weekend marked the beginning of the December hunt on the Lemania SIM. Each month, Lemania Indigo Designs hosts a SIM wide hunt in which designers located on the SIM will place out prizes at L$1 each. You can normally find anywhere from ten to thirty hunt prizes at Lemania Indigo Designs which are typically valued at L$300 or more. Pink Sparkles and Diamonds & Gold Jewelry are two prizes which you can find in the Old Saint Nick Hunt (December Lemania Hunt) which runs from December 11 through December 31st. Fourteen gifts have been placed out by Lemania at L$1 each. Other designers located on the SIM are also participating; so, be sure to check them out as well!

Elegance

Looking to add a little elegance to your wardrobe? If so, you should most definitely visit the Lemania SIM soon. Both Lemania Indigo Designs and Siss Boom have placed out elegant L$100 specials which are sure not to last long. Always a Bridesmaid and Always You are among my favorites of new Lemania releases. I absolutely adore 'poofy' dresses, and Lemania has done an amazing job with Always You. The textures are absolutely beautiful, and there is just the right amount of poof with the skirt.

It's Beginning to Feel a Lot Like Christmas

I would like to start off with an apology to the designer of JeSyLilo, LiLo Glom, who sent me five amazing new skins last week. I had every intention of blogging these last week, but real life got crazy fairly quickly. These skins are absolutely beautiful, and I am sorry that I could not get them to my readers sooner.

The new Christmas skin released by JeSyLilo last week is stunning to say the least. I particularly love the eye shadows; the designer has added just the right amount of sparkle without going completely overboard. The skin is offered in three tones (light, tan and dark) and five different makeup choices at L$1200 each or L$4500 for the fatpack. Each makeup has options for freckles/no freckles, small breasts/large breasts, matte/shiny and hairbase/no hairbase. Also, JeSyLiLo has placed several free items (including eight skins!) out for the Christmas season.
