Retro

Retro

I love fashion with flair, and PurpleMoon's contribution for CHIC Management's 2nd birthday bash has just that!  The Chica Top and Trousers have a very 70s vibe to them.  The texturing on the trousers gives them an almost touchable quality; they have a very soft feel that makes me wonder exactly what kind of material Poulet was aiming for.  If it was velvet, I'm glad my ava is wearing it and not the real life me... especially in this weather!  Both the top and pants are mesh items; five sizes are included for both as well as multiple alpha layers.  The top is available in six colors and the trousers are available in eight colors.  A free demo is available for you to preview.  The event closes June 24th.

coldLogic Rompers

Designs like dresses and rompers are something I have never found easy to wear in my real life.  My real body is shaped like a pear which makes wearing one piece outfits extremely difficult.  To get an outfit the fits in the hinny, it always doesn't fit in the bust.  Such is life!  Thankfully, my Second Life body doesn't have such limitations and allows me to thoroughly enjoy these new rompers by coldLogic.

coldLogic Romper

Mathis is the most dressy of the three romper designs.  This is definitely a look that would be appropriate to wear to an important business meeting or out on a date with that special someone.  Four total colors are available for the Mathis design.  Rae is a romper design identical to Mathis; however, it is offered in four bi-colors instead of four solid colors.  This setup is similar to how JANE renames same designs that use different textures, and using that system at coldLogic makes complete sense since Janie Marlow is one of the three very talented designers of coldLogic.  Five sizes and an alpha layer are included with each purchase, and a free demo is available for you to preview.

I'm not typically into the sporty look, but I have to admit that Room is a very sexy sporty look that I really love.  The 'shorts' portion of the romper are extremely cute; they remind me of running shorts and even have that crinkled up look to match.  Room is available in four solid colors, and like Mathis, Room has a 'sister product' titled Briggs that is available in four striped colors.  Five sizes and an alpha layer are included with each purchase, and a free demo is available for you to preview.

coldLogic Romper

Reese is the final romper style available and is the most dressy casual of the three.  This design is perfect for shopping with your girls or a night out at the movies with your friends.  The top portion of Reese features a floral design, and four total colors of the romper are available.  Ella is a similar design to Reese with the exception that Ella has a more solid texture with a highlight color around the top and bottom of the romper; four colors are also available for Ella.  Five sizes and an alpha layer are included with each purchase, and a free demo is available for you to preview.

Sophisticated Mix

Sophisticated

Siss Boom is back from a brief hiatus and marked the occasion with a new release!  The Sophistication Mix top is a mesh design with four texture choices available; five sizes and an alpha layer are included in your purchase, and a free demo is available for you to try.  Of the four available versions, the Glam texture was my favorite.  It has a very dressy casual feel, and of course that is always the design I'm looking for.

I have technically already blogged the amazing new mesh jeans from JANE, but I honestly cannot get enough of them.  The textures on all five available colors are beautiful, and the low waist line makes them very easy to fit underneath mesh tops without having the pants poke through the shirt.  Sweet 'n Low can very easily be a staple of any female inventory... and not to mention the butt looks amazing!

Mesh♥Love

When I saw the first video on YouTube of mesh clothing a few months ago, I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical. The clothing in the video wasn't very well made; the design and the textures were boring to say the least. I shouldn't have put limitations in my mind on the creativeness of Second Life designers! After trying a mesh outfit, I'm not sure that I ever want to wear clothing with 'old prim' pieces again.

Photobucket

I denied a Christmas gift from JANE on accident and headed over to her shop to see if I could pick it up in the subscriber's history. I hadn't been to the shop since before I left Second Life to get married in real life, and I was quite surprised by all the mesh items she has created. I have always loved the designs of this store; they seem to just fit my personality. They are stylish with a mix of classy and casual. I actually forgot completely about the Christmas gift until just now; after peeking in the box, if you haven't picked up one, definitely stop by the store! There are three mesh goodies in what appears to be all colors included in the box!

Photobucket

The textures on JANE's mesh clothing (all of her clothing actually) is very well made; the shading and highlighting add an extra sense of depth to the clothing. I absolutely LOVE the way the mesh clothing moves so smoothly with me. I have noticed a bit of flickering with the alpha layers, but I think that may be a problem with my viewer instead of with the alpha itself. To stop the flickering, simply bump up your graphics a notch (or two). JANE's mesh clothing comes in four sizes; mesh clothing does not stretch to fit around your body, so you may need to edit your shape a little to fit properly in them. Also, the items are very reasonably priced; most mesh clothing I have seen on the grid is hundreds of lindens. Both the coat and pants I'm wearing cost 150L each; JANE also has mesh items priced lower.

Photobucket

What's the thing that I love the most about mesh? I don't have to move around prim pieces when I finally am ready to pose for my photos! It was so nice to not have to take all of that time to make sure every piece is where it should be. Speaking of posing, I was so excited to see Glitterati participating in The Fashion Garret! The first pose set includes five poses for a mere 70L. I'll take discounted poses from one of my favorite pose designers any day of the week! Also, for a limited time you can pick up a free 250L store credit at Glitterati; if you are in the VIP group, there is a free 500L store credit for you!

Week 18 of 52 Weeks of Color - Ecru

It’s hard to believe that I have stayed with the 52 Weeks of Color challenge for eighteen weeks. Before I know it, a half a year will have already passed! I hope that Miss Luna is thinking of another year long challenge; I’m not sure if I like the thought of a ‘no challenge’ week.

Photobucket

My outfit for the ‘Ecru’ week really came from a mishmash of stores. The beautiful top I am wearing is the contribution of Kyoot to 50 Linden Friday. I really love the pattern and the color of the shirt. It makes me think American Southwest, which I suppose is why it is colored "Santa Fe". I’ve always wanted to visit; perhaps someday I will have the chance. The shirt comes in several options including wearing the shirt and undershirt together or separately. I personally love the layered look.

My very hot pants are from Phoenix Rising. I purchased the Mona Pants in Ice when the store was having their closing sale last summer. They are honestly my favorite pair of virtual jeans that I own, and that is saying something since I have quite a few pair. The texture is so soft and has a very worn and comfortable look. I was upset that I only bought one color and wished for quite a while that I could purchase other colors. Needless to say, when I found out that Phoenix Rising does indeed still have a store open, I rushed over and bought the Mona Pants in all colors! I’m wearing the tan color for my photo, and I love them just as much as the ice. For L$25, you really cannot beat these!

Photobucket

The skin I am wearing is the only thing officially colored ecru. I blogged the entire line of the Swedish Essentials Skin when Siss Boom first released it a couple months ago. I love the skin today as much as I loved it then. Highlighting and shading always make or break a skin for me. I absolutely hate it when a skin’s shading ends up looking like dirty knees and elbows. Of course you will not find that in the skins from Siss Boom. Lestat Reuven has taken a lot of time to make sure simple details are not overlooked. The highlighting and shading is done very well, and I love that random moles and freckles can be found throughout the body.

I'm only wearing two pieces of the very beautiful set of jewelry that League put out for 50 Linden Friday.  Here lately, I haven't been loving a whole lot of the items that have been placed out for the sale, but this set was a definite win!  I would have worn the included necklace as well, but it was a bit too bulky for what I was going for.  It is still definitely very pretty and worth way more than the L$50 I spent on it.

Week 12 of 52 Weeks of Color - Taupe

Taupe is a very earthy brown which reminds me of being covered with nutrient rich soil as a child. When I was little, I spent my summers at my grandparents’ house while my mother was working. My grandfather always raised a garden, and for some reason, there was just something special about his boots. I found the Wo Boots by Zero Number quite a few months ago, and it is amazing at how much they look like my grandfather’s boots. I realize only the top portion of the boots is showing, but each boot comes in two pieces, and the pose found in the seat was just not ‘two piece boot’ friendly. Lol

Photobucket

The shirt I am wearing is the top portion of the special released yesterday by Siss Boom, titled Earth. As luck would have it, it was just the right shade of taupe for the Color Challenge this week. My pants are also from the creator of Siss Boom; however, they were designed when Lestat Reuven’s store was titled Wondrous Strange. The pants are part of an outfit titled Gentle Brocade which is still available in the Siss Boom store. It is honestly one of my very favorite designs by Lestat.

LoQ released a special pack of hair as a group gift this past week in their Tiramisu style. The pack includes four colors of the hair piece as well as the hairbases. The hair was not a perfect fit for me, but thankfully LoQ hairs are modifiable which allowed me to insert my own resize script. I honestly am horrible at manually resizing. If you have difficulty resizing as well, search for resizing scripts on the marketplace. There are some very easy to use, premade scripts available for purchase.
