Pieces of My Closet IV

While sorting through my inventory last night, I came across a few older dresses that will more than likely never be worn again, but I couldn't bring myself to delete them... especially the dresses that were from stores that no longer exist!  My lovely Plurk friends suggested that I should box them which of course makes perfect sense.  I always hated the idea of packing and unpacking inventory, but if it is something that I won't use a lot, it is definitely more logical to pack it.  I remembered an inventory 'closet' by Tiny Spaces that I have which is extremely easy to use; unfortunately, the owner no longer has an in-world store, and I cannot find the item on her marketplace.  There are, however, a lot of inventory organizers on the marketplace for you to choose from to help you clean up your item count.

I have technically already blogged the dress I am wearing from Scribble, but it was ages ago before I even knew how to take a high-rez photo.  That's a scary thought.  The design was an exclusive from the designer for an event called it was a blur.  At the time, it was definitely the most unique environment I had ever emerged my ava in.  Since Scribble has disappeared from the grid, the thought of deleting this really bothered me especially since I like it.  However, it is now tucked safely in a box where I can pull it out when and if the occasion calls.

It Was A Blur.

It Was A Blur. was one of the most unique events that I have been to in Second Life. Viewers are encouraged to interact and merge with the art, to photograph and to explore. Designers participating in the event created pieces to help viewers 'blur' with the surroundings. It is truly a unique experience and well worth a visit.

Gatcha Some Tea!

There's nothing better on a hot summer day than a tall glass of sweet iced tea! Radio Signals, designer and owner of Scribble, sent me copies of her completely adorable teapots she made for the Albero Summer Gatcha Festival. I honestly didn't know what a gatcha was, but when I got to the SIM I figured it out pretty quickly. Everyone remembers the gumball machines from when we were kids... Welp, that is what a gatcha is except in Second Life form! The designer loads the machine with various colors and/or designs, and you pay a set price to get a random prize. Between the two gatcha vendors Scribble has set up, there are six colors of the teapots you can win. Each teapot has a pose included with it if you would like to wear it, or they are perfect to use for decor as well! Each pot includes one pose with four possible poses from the machines. There are also four possible styles of the teapots and a rare style with a steeping tea bag! The possibilites are endless and each chance costs only L$15!

Of course I had to look around at the other machines while I was there and found some pretty neat things from several different designers which include Doppelganger Inc., loveme, Forest Feast, LouLou&Co and Lazy Places.

Fifty Linden Friday

I absolutely love all the weekend sales, and there isn't a much better way to kick them off than with Fifty Liden Friday! There were a lot of great designers included on the list today, and I picked up quite a few items.

Lamb included two more of her styles in the exclusive honeycomb color that we saw a couple weeks ago. I don't normally wear a lot of blonde, but this color is gorgeous! Today, she is offering Sleepyhead and Ghost for L$50 each.

SLink is offering a fabulous pair of boots for only L$50! These knee-high boots are available in tan and feature a metal tip on the end of the heel. An alpha layer is included with the boots for Viewer 2.0 users.

Just when I thought I had enough swimwear, I see Batkini!! This adorable bikini by Schadenfreude features a bat design on the top and bottom with a rainbow effect underneath. Schadenfreude is also offering a deep v vest that actually looks pretty good with the bikini! Who knew?!

I don't normally like changing my eyes or shape, but Turquoise Unicorn Studios is offering an adorable set of rainbow eyes that matched the Batkini so well!

Last, but most certainly not least, is an adorable dress by Scribble and an amazing bag by Miel. The Silver Cotton dress has three wearing options: long dress, babydoll and top. The Glitter Bag by Miel has a color change script with five colors included as well as a size change script to easily allow you to adjust the size of the bag to your avatar. Two purses are included in the purchase: one with an animation and one without.
