Happy Halloween!

I have had a lot of fun dressing up in so many costumes this week and attending some great Halloween parties this weekend! Of course, there are still many great parties left to attend tonight, and just incase you haven't picked up a costume yet, I've got some more for you! I'm normally not a fan of sculpted skirts since they tend to not fit me correctly, but the new dress from BOOM is absolutely gorgeous and fits wonderfully! The dress comes in two parts which are sold separately: a single body suit and a sculpted chest piece and skirt set. This gives you, the customer, a better chance of purchasing more of the color options at a much lower price! Who doesn't love that? I Always Wanted to Be a Princess...

Being a Disney princess for Halloween is most definitely a timeless classic. Every little girl grows up wishing she was a princess; some of the lucky ones actually get to live out that dream. My real life boyfriend, who also happens to be my Second Life husband, has shown me that you don't have to have royal blood flowing in your veins to be a princess; all you need is someone who loves you enough to treat you like one every day of your life. I truly could not ask for anyone better.

So, where do you find your Disney princess costumes in Second Life? I have had the Cinderella costume from A Touch of Ireland stuck in my closet for almost a year now; actually, I think that it may have been the first costume that I purchased from the designer which led me to falling in complete love with her work! Another wonderful place to pick up your Disney princess costumes is Fierce Designs! Fall's Twilight

The beautiful colors that appear in nature during the fall have always captivated me. I love sitting and watching the leaves fall outside my window. The reds, oranges and yellows seem to just naturally go together. The almost FREE (L$1) dress at A Touch of Ireland, titled Samhain Fall, reminds me of those falling leaves. I absolutely love it and get so excited when I go to a newly discovered (to me) store and find designs that are interesting and different than 'mainstream' Second Life. The costumes at Fierce Designs on Fierce Island are just that! As I do my "Halloween Special" over the next week, I will also be including costumes from Fierce Designs (and any other store I find interesting)! Today's costume is a reflection of my 'love' for vampires. I'm not entirely sure why I have always been so interested in them, but give me a good vampire book or vampire show (preferably one featuring Eric Northman haha!) and I will be happy! This costume includes both a long and short skirt version; a skin is also included.

Celtic Storm

As a child, Halloween was one of my favorite holidays. Honestly, who doesn't love dressing up and getting free candy?! For those of you who do not know, Halloween originated as a Celtic 'new years' holiday some 2,000 years ago in present day Ireland. The Celts believed that on the night before the new year the world between the living and the dead became blurred and thought that the dead could walk among us. Somewhere along the way, the tradition of the Celts was mixed with Roman customs of the dead. Around 800 AD the Catholic church established All Saints Day in an attempt to make the holiday a day to honor saints and martyrs. Over the next 1200 or so years Halloween became not a time of ghosts and goblins but more of a time of community (Halloween, 2010).

So, where is the absolute best place in all of Second Life to pick up your Halloween costume? A Touch of Ireland, of course! A Gift from Paris Metro

I always get so excited when I receive a notification that Paris Metro has a new free gift available! Paris Metro is sponsoring a live event today, starting at 12 pm SLT, in Paris under the Eiffel Tower. As a thank you to attendees, Kiss of the Spider Woman 2010 is being offered absolutely free! As with all other Paris Metro designs, this dress is constructed exceptionally well. As many of you know, I absolutely love hair! My love for amazing Second Life hair began when I starting modeling. At the time, I wasn't very old in Second Life and didn't have a lot of clothing or hair. I asked a friend and fellow model where she would recommend for me to pick up some hair at a resonable price. The store she recommended was ETD. From the very first visit I fell in love with the amazing designs and fantastic quality. Needless to say, I was very disappointed when the creator when on an indefinite hiatus. I cannot even begin to describe how excited I was when I got a notecard today announcing the opening of her new store titled Elikatira! The ETD designs are no longer available, but there are over ten amazing new designs with more to come soon! The following are four styles that I picked up; a freebie is also out for customers!

Fall is most definitely one of my favorite times of the year. I always look forward to the leaves changing colors. There are so many deep, rich colors in nature, and I absolutely love it! After a long week of work, it's nice to just be able to relax on Saturday! I love to lay around the house in comfortable clothing and do absolutely nothing! The Notorious Sting

It's hard to believe that it has been almost two months since my last post! What can I say though... Real life hit me right in the face! With work starting again, I'm a teacher irl, and my own classes that I am taking to finish my master's degree, I haven't really had a lot of time to play on Second Life. In all honesty, I was also getting a bit burnt out. I spent nearly all of my summer here! A break was definitely in order. I will hopefully be posting more often than once every two months now, but I won't be making multiple posts per day. =) A couple times a week may be a bit more resonable, however.

The first places I had to check out today were a few of my favorites, of course! After working for Lemania Indigo Designs for six months and not seeing anything at all for the past two, I had to swing by! I wasn't surprised to see that she and Lestat Reuven have both changed their buildings. The constant change in scenery is almost like their signature trademark. Lemania has out gorgeous new designs for the fall, including some adorable Halloween costumes. While I was there, I picked up one of the 100L$ specials titled 30s The Sting.

I was also very happy to see that Lestat, owner of Siss Boom (formerly Wondrous Strange), is still making new clothing as she is one of my absolute favorites in Second Life. Lestat offers 100L$ specials as well, and I chose to feature Notorious today. I only wished that she made clothing for real life!

I also made a stop by EarthStones today, my favorite jewelry designer in Second Life. There are several beautiful new collections out. I picked up Falling Leaves Frosted (also available in a gold tone) for this weekend, but I'm sure that I will be back to get more of the other collections before too long!
