Independence

I can't believe that it's already almost Independence Day! To prepare for the weekend celebrations on Second Life, I swung by two of my favorite Second Life shops to pick up a few items. A Touch of Ireland ... I know, it doesn't sound like a place you would go to pick up something for the American Independence Day ... specializes in costumes for everything from holidays to your favorite cartoon characters. I stumbled across this amazing store while doing a hunt when I was very young in Second Life, and anytime I need a new costume, it is the first place that I check. The outfits are so amazing, and I would recommend the store to anyone looking for a great costume. I picked up Red Stars, an adorably sexy red, white and blue dress that comes with two skirts, a top hat and a full set of jewelry. I also got a great bikini with hat and shoes included for only L$50! A Touch of Ireland also has an adorable freebie in the front of their store with a free skin included; so, of course I picked that up as well!

One of my favorite jewelry stores in Second Life, which I coincidently also found through a hunt, put a special set of jewelry out for Independence Day. EarthStones has created a jewelry set titled Fireworks! available in three colors, Independence, White Light and Multi. I picked up the Independence for the holiday weekend and White Light for other specials occassions in Second Life. The jewelry flickers and glows just like real fireworks! EarthStones always does such an amazing job with jewelry, and this set is definitely not an exception from the high standard for quality the designer has set for her store. EarthStones has also set out specials from last year as well for anyone who missed them and a freebie!

25L Tuesday

This morning I tried out the 25L Tuesdays specials list for the first time, and I found some pretty nice things. The theme for the specials is fantasy and role playing; so, if that is your thing, 25L isn't bad for a new outfit or two!

One of my favorite stores on the specials list was Junbug. The entire atmosphere of the store was wonderful, and the outfits were amazing. Junbug has what I would call a gypsy style dress out for L$25. You don't only get one adorable skirt, but two! The outfit also includes a 'modesty' undershirt for those ladies who would rather have the goods covered up.

Next up on the list is an adorably sexy lingerie set by Trashy Designs. Given the name of the store, you may expect any special to be showing a little more skin, but I was pleasantly surprised that all my parts were covered! The outfit features a cute thong, belt and a left shouldered tank which only covers the left breast. However, the designer included a band going around the chest and arms to cover the necessary parts. This set is available in blue, gold, green, purple, red and silver for only L$25 each!

Finally, but certainly not least, is a wild and sexy outfit from Smashin' Fashion. This pant outfit, with an optional skirt included, features a black corset with leopard print pants that have been clawed up! A cute pair of boots to match are included with the outfit, all for only L$25.

Hunt for the Cure

The generosity of Second Life content creators never ceases to amaze me. So many are willing to create products to sell for charity. One of the biggest charity events on Second Life is that for Relay for Life, an organization dedicated to the battle against cancer. Hunt for the Cure began last Saturday, June 26 and will run through Sunday, July 4. Over fifty designers are participating in the event; each designer has hidden at least one small RFL vendor with a ribbon in their store. To receive the prize, residents must make a small donation of L$10 or L$25. I am highlighting the gifts by Lemania Indigo Designs. She has placed six vendors in her store; each vendor contains a textured, long sleeve shirt with a 'fight against cancer' theme. Lemania's vendors require a donation of L$10. All money raised will be donated to Relay for Life.

Chocolate Chiffon

Zenith Fashion has a Monday Mania Special out at their new location. The Chocolate Chiffon Dress is being offered for L$50, regular price being L$200. This short dress is full of texture and shape. It features a small flower on the lower right front of the dress and ruffles at the top and bottom.

Total Knockout

Total Knockout has released several great new items in the past week. First up is the Danni Top, available in black, blue, brown, green, pink, purple, salmon and yellow, and the Brody Low Rise Jeans, available in black, blue, brown, green, purple and red. The Danni Top is an adorable tank with sequins at the top that hangs loosely and becomes fitted at the waist. The Brody Low Rise Jeans are extra low which allows your butt to peek out in the back; the ankle cuffs are modify so that you can adjust the size to your preferred size.

You always have to love outfits that you can pick and mix yourself! Total Knockout released just such an outfit this past week with adorable shorts, a sexy tank, suspenders and pasties. You can purchase each individually or in a fatpack at a discount price. The shorts are available in black, blue, brown, green, jester, and red. My Garden

Every Saturday, Lemania Indigo Designs releases a new Group Gift which members can purchase for L$1. Lemania took the day off yesterday and put the gift out today instead. This week's gift is an adorable capri outfit with big, pink daisies! You get the denim capris, white top with matching flowers and the matching shoes all for L$1! To purchase the gift, you must be a member of SL Divine Divas (there is an invite board in the store) and be wearing your group tag.

Tippy Roxanne

Over the past couple of weeks, Donna Flora has become one of my favorite designers to visit in Second Life. All of her designs are colorful and contain a lot of detail, no matter if it is a L$60 outfit or a new, regular priced release. Donna Flora sets out an outfit every weekend for the Sixty Linden Weekend event; this weekend was a sexy red outfit; however, an adorable short yellow dress caught my eye. I believe this outfit is a special from a previous weekend, and I am very glad that she left it out for L$60! I paired the dress with a set of jewelry also from Donna Flora titled Roxanne.

Stumblebum Hair

I was a little disappointed in the Stumblebum Brigade specials this morning. Quite a few designers didn't even have their specials out yet! Yes, it is only the first day in the week long event, but my time is very valuable to me. I don't want to revisit stores several times just to see if they have set out their specials. However, I'm setting the frustration aside and enjoying the great hair I did find. You can always guarantee quality when Lamb and Clawtooth are included on the list! Lamb set out two of her hairs, Breeze and Say, in an exclusive honeycomb color that I absolutely love for L$150. Clawtooth included The Morning After with Bangs in four colors, deep sunset, girl next door, snow and strawberry cream, for L$195. These specials will be out until Friday, July 2.

Brown Eyed Girl

Lemania Indigo Designs has been a favorite of mine since I was very young in Second Life. I discovered the store through a hunt when I was around a month old and have been in love with the store ever since. I quickly discovered that Lemania loves hunts and loves offering Second Life residents quality outfits at an extremely reasonable price. Daily Specials are offered for 100L$ each with shoes included! Lemania also participates in Letter of the Week, Monday Mania and as many hunts as she can find! You can also find a Lucky Chair, Money Fever, Group Gifts, BidBoxes, Midnight Mania Board and two Walks of Stars at the shop!

I have worked for Lemania Indigo Designs and Wondrous Strange as a Personal Stylist since March 2010. So, what is a personal stylist? Since customer service is a top priority for these sister stores, personal stylists work to solve any problem or need that a customer may have. We assist customers with clothing selections, offer tips on how to fit clothing to the various body shapes in SL, send customer suggestions, praises or complaints to Lemania and Lestat and simply make sure that customers enjoy their experience on the SIM. I have also been known to personally notify a customer if I see something I think she may enjoy go on sale after I have learned her styling preferences. These services are completely FREE to Lemania Indigo Designs and Wondrous Strange customers!

The Stumblebum Brigade

After five days away from Second Life, I just had to login tonight to see what I had missed! I don't know if I am being completely honest when I say "missed," however, since I had such an amazing week with my boyfriend. He is truly a gift from God which I do not in any way deserve. I was curious about what happened though! Hehe

The Stumblebum Brigade is a weekly event which I enjoy. Each week, a selected group of designers place an exclusive item in the front of their store which will only be sold for the week of the event. The sale runs from Saturday through Friday; so, I was able to catch this week's specials just in time before they disappear forever! I chose an extra cute top from Tres Blah titled Romantic Chemise (130L$) in beige and Bleached Jeans by Atomic (100L$ per pair or 200L$ for the fat pack) in gritty (also available in black and vintage).

Ok.... So, I told myself that I absolutely was not going to be on Second Life or post any new blogs while I was on vacation with my ever so amazing boyfriend (♥). But, I wasn't able to get these pictures out before we left, and as long as they are sitting here on my laptop completely unpublished it is going to annoy me. So, one last post, and you won't see me again until Friday!

A very good friend of mine, I won't mention names just incase, introduced me to Donna Flora last week, and I absolutely fell in love with her designs. Most of her styles are very vintage, which I absoultely LOVE. If I could have chosen an era to grow up in, it most likely would have been somewhere between the 20s and 40s. Yes, I realize that was a time of great hardship in the United States, but sometimes that can humble people and make them stronger. It would have been nice to have been able to teach a classroom (I'm a teacher in RL ;) ) and not have students who were rude and didn't care about anyone but themselves. Anyway... Donna Flora's designs are full of texture and color, and I highly recommend visiting her store! The outfit I am wearing, titled Brooke, was released late last week and comes in both gold and sky. You get both a flexi babydoll skirt with the outfit along with a 'normal' skirt and flexi top with beads!
